The Office of Equal Opportunity Programs is the office designated by the College of Charleston to receive formal complaints of discrimination or harassment, including under Title IX. The Office of Equal Opportunity Programs was established at the College of Charleston to ensure equal opportunity for all members of our college community. Since its inception, the Office of Equal Opportunity Programs has sought to eliminate discrimination and harassment, and has overseen the College's non-discrimination policies and investigation process for faculty, staff, and students. Please click on the "Contact Us" link on the left for more information about contacting our Title IX Coordinators.

The Office of Equal Opportunity Programs ensures prompt response to complaints of discrimination based on age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, national origin, pregnancy, race/color, retaliation, religion, sex sexual harassment, veteran status and uniform services by students, employees, and/or applicants for employment and admission. The Director of the Office of Equal Opportunity Programs is responsible for coordinating the grievance procedures under the Affirmative Action Program and federal equal opportunity guidelines.

It is the policy of the College of Charleston to promote and protect a learning and living environment where civil discourse, respect for the individual and appreciation for the diversity of human experiences are valued as compelling academic interests. To support progress towards the College’s goal of inclusiveness, the Office of Equal Opportunity Programs addresses the educational and employment needs of individuals and groups who make up our campus community.
